Friday on the blog is always all about the beautiful homes I've been crushing on recently, and every week I'll be running my #dovecottagefridayfaves - featuring a few of your beautiful homes plus some images I've been drawing inspiration from over the past few days.
This week I'm looking at hallways, and how this small area can make a big first impression when welcoming people into your home. Thanks so much to the ladies who shared beautiful pictures of their hallways over on Instagram this week using the hashtag #DoveCottageFridayFaves - I've featured some of my favourites here.
1. First up is the lovely Sarah (@oxfordcottagegardener over on Instagram), and her gorgeous hallway. I love the way the chairs and lamps create a symmetrical look, and how lovely is her wallpaper?!
2. Next is this beauty from Louise (@louiseslittlecorner). I'm a huge fan of radiator covers, but I've never seen a wooden one like this before - how gorgeous does it look?! I love the way Louise has styled the stool too, and how lovely is her London print?!
3. I absolutely love the use of space in Emma's (@belonginghome) hallway - I have this shoe cupboard too, and I love how you can fit so many pairs of shoes in it, but it takes up minimal space, plus gives you somewhere to display some lovely accessories too. I love the feature wall too, and I've been eyeing up some of those cotton ball lights for a while - they look perfect in here to pick up the hint of blue!
4. Thanks to Laura (@laura.chapman.106) for this lovely snap of her hallway! I absolutely love the monochrome tiles, they look so stylish and must make a wonderful eye-catching feature for visitors. I love that she's continued the colour scheme through her accessories too - how cute is her vintage-style telephone?!
5. How light and airy is @jadewalton's hallway?! I'm totally obsessed with grey at the mo, and love the way this looks as a feature wall. If you have a narrow hallway it can sometimes be difficult to style without the space becoming cluttered, but Jade has used just the right amount of accessories to give this area character and interest, yet making sure it still looks neat and spacious.
6. Finally this week, it's this simple but lovely picture from @littlehouse_on_the_hill. I love the way she's styled her radiator cover with real flowers (I've never managed to keep an orchid alive - so very jealous of this beautiful one!), and a mirror in a hallway is always a fab idea as it will reflect light and make the space seem bigger.
I've been lusting at some more hallways over on Pinterest this week - have a look at my hallways pinterest board here for some more inspirational homes.
Hope this has provided some inspiration should you be thinking about how to give your hallway a revamp.
Next week I'll be moving onto looking at lovely lounges, so don't forget to hashtag your lounge pictures over on Instagram with #DoveCottageFridayFaves and I'll feature some of my favourites here next week!
Thanks for reading,
Sam Xx
