Friday Faves Inspiration: Fabulous Front Doors

Inspiration on how to create a stunning entrance to your home, featuring some of the most beautiful real-life homes from social media

Friday on the blog is always all about the beautiful homes I've been crushing on recently, and every week I'll be running my Friday Faves - featuring a few of your beautiful homes and images I've been drawing inspiration from over the past few days.

This week I'm looking at front doors and entrances to houses - and how you can make your home look beautiful and welcoming before someone even steps foot inside.
Thanks so much to everyone who shared their pictures over on Instagram this week using the hashtag #DoveCottageFridayFaves - I've featured some of my favourites here...

1. First up today is this absolute stunner from Karen (@kaygeeinsta) - looks like my ideal country home! The clean, crisp white of the exterior compliments that gorgeous wooden door perfectly, and the simple addition of the bay trees is just lovely. So dreamy!

2. @oliviarose_x shared her beautiful front door too - how inviting does this look? These bay trees are very similar to the ones I've got some beside my back door, but these look so lovely at the front. You just know there's going to be a beautiful home inside with an entrance like this don't you?!

3. Next up is @laurakateelvis' gorgeous entrance to her home. I absolutely love hanging baskets and think they always look amazing (although I can never seem to keep them alive!), and they look so beautiful and summery here. What a lovely homely entrance!

4. The lovely Abbie (@fromhisbachelorpadtoourhome) has been transforming her home recently, and this is her entrance makeover - how beautiful is her front door? Absolutely LOVE the colour. The whole area looks so neat and tidy, and I bet it looks just as nice in the dark when the solar lights come on too. I also love that we've got a sneak peek of the hallway, this is the type of lovely home that I'd be desperate to have a nose around!

5. Thanks to Sonja (@soboid) who shared this snap of the entrance to her home - how friendly does this look?! I love this mirror too, and the fact that its placed opposite the door is a really great idea as it will help light bounce around the space - a fab idea if you've got a small/dark hallway like mine. I've seen her 'Remember as far as anyone knows, we're a nice normal family' print before and it always makes me laugh - I definitely need one of these for my home! Also, totally not related at all - but Sonja has THE cutest dog ever, you have to check him out!

6. And finally, I'm so glad that the lovely Caroline (@carolinejsmith75) has played along again this week. She has such a nice home - it's always a pleasure to feature it here! I love that her picture shows us the other side of the entrance to her home, and how welcoming does it look?! All the accessories are perfectly chosen, and give her hallway such a cosy, warm and friendly feel.

Hope this has provided you with some inspiration should you be thinking about giving the front of your home a bit of a makeover.

Next Friday I'll be looking at spare rooms, and what you've done with them. Think guest rooms/home offices/gyms, I'm not fussy! So don't forget to hashtag pictures of your spare rooms on Instagram #DoveCottageFridayFaves, and I'll feature some of my favourites next week!

Thanks for reading,
Sam Xx
