#dovecottagemyfaveroom: Lucy's Lounge

Each Friday on the blog it's all about the beautiful homes I'm inspired by in my feature 'My Fave Room'. If you'd like to enter upload a photo over on Instagram of your favourite room in your home, using the #dovecottagemyfaveroom, and I'll be focusing on one each week. So without further ado, here's this week's room - the lovely Lucy (@__itslucy__)'s absolute beauty of a lounge...

Lucy was one of the first people I followed when I joined Instagram a couple of years ago, and over that time she has been renovating her beautiful Victorian home, restoring it to its stunning traditional glory - as I'm sure you can tell already its a complete stunner! I dream of owning a period property one day, and vintage features like this fireplace are exactly why - just look at those tiles!

There's nothing that adds character to a room quite like a beautiful bold colour, and how amazing does this grey look in here? The mantlepiece and shelves (above) are styled to perfection too - so many cool quirky bits to add interest, without being too overdone or cluttered, something which is very hard to get right!

I love how Lucy has styled this room with lots of different textures too, how amazing does her soft stool look contrasted against the leather?! The little pops of gold are perfect for this room too, especially that lovely lamp.

Every little detail in this room is so well thought out and put together - even the bits displayed here compliment each other perfectly!

Look at that gorgeous detail over the doorway, and I love that little sneak peek of the stunning hallway floor through it!

Thanks for reading, and thanks so much to the lovely Lucy for letting us have a nose around her favourite room. Have a look round the rest of her beautiful home over on Instagram here, and enter your favourite room using the hashtag #dovecottagemyfaveroom - I'll feature another inspirational room next week.
