I’ve mentioned it lots before, but I’m a huge fan of updating your decor and making changes in your home for each new season. To me, it keeps things feeling fresh and current, and its doesn't have to cost the earth- sometimes just a few small bits is all you need. Autumn is the perfect time to make some changes too, so as soon as the leaves start turning brown out come the cosy throws and candles!
I’ve chosen three areas of my home to update for the new season, teaming up with Sainsbury’s Home and their beautiful new season bits, to share some quick and simple ways you can update your decor for the cooler months - all on a budget too of course!

I choose a few bits from their new Nomadic Travels (think boho-inspired neutrals) and Rural Retreat (deep colours and woodland animals) ranges - both perfect for adding some warmth and texture (especially important when you’re battling with a got a ‘no heating until November’ rule - thanks for that hubby).

Living Room
First up I chose this beautiful wooden side table, which I’ve styled beside the sofa. We recently got rid of our coffee table (little fingers and low tables don't mix!), so definitely needed somewhere to put a candle/cuppa in the evenings, and the height of this one is perfect. I’ve got the Cedarwood and Spiced Plum Candle burning away on here, which not only smells lovely, but very strongly too - the scent filled the hallway as well as the lounge. I’ve also styled the set of three Animal Candles on my footstool. I love that these work really well as a set of three, but they would look great on their own too, and they're such a bargain too at just £7.50 for the set.
One of the easiest ways to add a injection of Autumn-colour to your home, I find, is to switch your cushions for something more seasonal. I’ve swapped my summery blush pink cushions for these beauties - how lush is that boho-style Macrame Cushion?! It works really well with the colours of the Ochre Check one too, which is just the most autumnal thing I think I’ve ever seen!
Finally in here, I've gone for the number one Autumn must-have: a cosy throw. I chose this grey one (Nomad Woven Tassel Throw), which ties in nicely with the boho style of the cushion, and its little touches of colour mean it can be styled in most spaces.

Hallway
My hallway is currently looking very neutral, so definitely needed an injection of colour out here. I chose the wooden Letter Rack to style on my hallway table - it’s always useful to have something like this for hiding away junk mail/general rubbish I think! I’ve also chosen this really cute Hare Trinket Dish for somewhere to dump keys/loose change (so hope you're reading this Mr. Dove Cottage!)
Next up I've got this Willow Basket, which is absolutely huge! I’m going to be using it for all-important toy storage I think, however chucking a throw over the top means you can hide it all away in one fowl swoop. This is the Ochre Check Throw to match the cushion in the lounge - seriously, how beautiful are those colours?! I’m thinking it will also look great draped over my bed for a wintery touch.
Bathroom
Finally I’ve styled a couple of bits in the bathroom - don’t think you can’t go autumnal in there too! I absolutely fallen in love with the Nomadic Rug, which I think works perfectly as a bath mat as it’s made of a stronger material. How lovely is that boho style?!

I’ve gone a bit artificial plant mad in here recently (as you can probably tell!), and love how the Faux Fern Plant looks up here too on my bath tray. I’m always on the lookout for really realistic artificial plants, and this one is a really good example of that - plus how cute is the stone pot?! Perfect for keeping this small space light and neutral.
Do you update your home for each new season? What bits have you got your eye on from the new Sainsbury’s Home collection?
Thanks for reading,

*This is a collaboration with Sainsbury’s Home, however all my opinions are my own*

ReplyDeleteYes I love a good declutter after xmas too!
DeleteVery warm and inviting! I love a bit of tartan and of course the fresh flowers set it off!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Yes there's nothing more autumnal than a bit of tartan is there?!
