With Spring upon us now is the perfect time to give your home a refresh. After a long winter, certain spaces in my home always start to feel a bit rundown and in need of a revamp, so once the sunshine starts to make an appearance, I always feel the need for a huge spring clean and redecoration.

It's tough to know where to start though, so if you’re looking to overhaul your home, I’ve put together three stylish on-trend colour schemes perfect for welcoming the new season into your home. They all use spring-inspired paint shades, as well as accessories and soft furnishings to finish off the look. But as always, any of these looks can be recreated on a tight budget - all you need to start adding Spring to a room is a can of paint.

Navy blue and pale pink

When using a lighter colour it's always a good idea to choose a darker shade as an accent to ‘ground’ your scheme. This will bring the whole look together whilst making sure the room doesn’t look too washed out - a good consideration for those of us who live in homes where natural light is often an issue!

Two colours which work really well together to achieve this is navy blue and pale pink, a perfect theme for a living room or bedroom. Paint the walls with a light shade such as Dulux's Almost Oyster, to keep the space looking fresh, whilst an accent shade such as 'Sapphire Salute' could be used through your accessories and furniture. You don’t have to spend a fortune either - upcycle your current furniture using your accent shade in a furniture paint or eggshell finish.

Pink and Green

A bolder colour scheme, these two shades also work perfectly together, and is actually the theme I'm considering for a long-awaited revamp in our master bedroom. A deep green works really well with a soft pink - try shades such as Farrow and Ball's 'Green Smoke' and 'Setting plaster', for example. Keep other pieces in your room neutral - adding accessories in natural or monochrome textures will avoid distracting the eye from the rest of the scheme.

Beige

Neutrals are back in (I previously wrote about the big interior trends for 2021 in this post here), and a neutral colour scheme such as this is one of my favourite looks of the moment. Choose a shade such as Dulux's Colour of the Year 2021 'Brave Ground' for your walls, and go for similar tones throughout accessories.

To avoid a space looking too washed out, use your soft furnishings to add lots of texture. Boucle fabric, such as in the armchair below, is absolutely everywhere at the moment, and the perfect way to add a cosy, soft touch. You could also choose a deeper accent colour such as black or a tan brown for your accessories.

Are you planning on refreshing your home for Spring this year? Would you go for one of these colour themes?
