Spring is finally just around the corner. The days are feeling brighter and the sun is peeking its way through the windows. And as relieved as I am, it’s always around this time of year my home starts to show the signs of a long winter indoors.
So before the pressure of a full-blown spring clean kicks in, early spring is the ideal time for a little home reset. Just a few small, impactful refreshes to make your home feel lighter and cleaner - without any unnecessary overwhelm.
By focusing on just a handful of quick wins, you can bring that fresh feeling to your home now, leaving you time to enjoy Spring when it finally arrives.
So this year I’ve chosen five early-spring clean tasks, which are easier than ever with life-saving home essentials from Very. From tackling corners with powerful cleaners, to adding clever storage solutions, every part of my home has had the Spring reset treatment!
Task no 1: Steam clean floors
After a whole winter of muddy boots and pushchair wheels, my floors downstairs are in desperate need of some TLC.
Using a steam cleaner is a great way of tackling the mess, and giving everywhere a deep clean. Steam is a quick, effective process too - no need to spend ages scrubbing away at ground-in dirt!
Task no 2: Clean windows
One of those jobs that can get put off, cleaning the inside of your windows is essential for letting all that lovely spring sunshine in. One of my most dreaded tasks is easier than ever this year as I’m tackling my windows with a Vax handheld steam cleaner. It makes light work of a tough job - no more elbow grease needed here!
I think my favourite thing about this cleaner is how space-saving and compact it is. The handheld window cleaner is an additional attachment to the Vax steam cleaner - meaning I can tackle multiple places in my home while only needing to store one item. That’s a win win in my book.
Task no 3: Refresh soft furnishings
Fabric and furnishings can often hold onto smells and dust more than anything else in your home. Simple tasks like washing cushion covers and throws, and refreshing curtains and carpets with a fabric refresher can make a room feel instantly brighter.
You can even swap heavier fabrics like thicker duvets or cosy blankets for lighter, Spring-friendly versions.
Task no 4: Declutter
We’re always desperate for more storage in the bedrooms, which are fairly small in size. To save on valuable floor space a tall, slim kids storage unit from Very which gives my son some much-needed clothes and toy storage. I’ve used it to store chunky jumpers and knitwear, books, and toys.
Task no5: Add a Spring scent
