Friday on the blog is always all about the beautiful homes I've been crushing on recently, and every week I'll be running my Friday Faves - featuring a few of your beautiful homes plus some images I've been drawing inspiration from over the past few days.
This week I'm looking at dining rooms, and how a room which is usually only used for eating can still be one of the most important spaces of your home. Also, many homes, like mine don't have a seperate dining room, meaning you sometimes have to be quite creative about where your eating space fits into your home.
Thanks so much to everyone who shared beautiful pictures over on Instagram this week using the hashtag #DoveCottageFridayFaves - I've featured some of my favourites here - it's a bit of a bumper edition this week as so many of you played along which is so lovely!
1. First up this week is Sonja's (@soboid) lovely dining area - I absolutely love the fact that the chairs are different colours! Adds something different to this area, and being such a huge fan of pastel colours I love how this adds a country-cottage feel. Also how cute is her wallpaper?! Can't go wrong with a lovely feature wall!
2. Next up is @ashleycarolinet's dining room makeover - who doesn't look a before and after shot?! Isn't she lucky to have such a light and airy room, and I love what she's done with the space simply with just a freshen up of furniture and accessories. Fresh flowers can brighten up any area, and add a beautiful touch, and how lovely is her table and chairs?! Love the use of carver chairs with arm rests at the head of the table.
3. Next is one of my favourite new Instagram accounts I've recently discovered, the lovely @missrebeccafaith's stunning home - doesn't it look like something out of a catalogue?! I absolutely love how light and airy it is in here, and the how the dark wood creates almost a monochrome feel. Also, how perfect does is white piano in here?! What a genius idea.
4. Like me @carolinejsmith75 uses her conservatory as a dining room, and isn't it a beauty?! I love all the little touches she's used to create a lovely homely feel, such as the pretty accessories and floral furnishings. I'm also in love with the chairs - they look amazing in here and really add something extra to this space. How lucky is Caroline to have such a nice space to have breakfast with her lovely little girl?!
5. If you've ever had a look over on my Instagram, you'll know I'm a huge fan of neutral decor, so I absolutely love @mrsdawnrooney's dining room. Her lovely white table and chairs go perfectly with the grey feature wall, and the voile curtains add to the airy feel in here. What a gorgeous relaxing place to come home to after a long day, or entertain friends!
6. I love Nicola's (@myhome_nicola.x) spacious lounge-diner - what a great idea to put the table and chairs in the bay window area, making the most of the space. She's picked some lovely accessories too, I love the chocolate brown with hints of cream and gold - what a cosy looking room!
7. Next up is this absolutely stunning picture from @renovation.x - what a dining room! These sliding doors really bring the beautiful garden into the house, this must be such an amazing place to live, especially during the summer months. Everything about this room adds to its airy feel, even the beautiful glass pendant lights - I couldn't be more jealous of t his amazing house!
8. Another conservatory dining room here, from @j.siviter this time. As a massive Emma Bridgewater fan, I can't get over all her lovely pieces, very jealous of her gorgeous dresser! The floral furnishings add a vintage feel, and even her garden is beautiful! I absolutely love that bench - that's definitely going on my wish list!
10. I can't get over how stunning this dining room from @chellywellie is - what a genius idea to put fairy lights along the floor! I bet this looks so cosy in the evening, I can just imagine having drinks with friends in here. I also love the large painting on the wall, it finishes his room off perfectly.
11. Another Emma Bridgewater fan next, is this beauty of a kitchen/diner from @eli_home_, I couldn't be more jealous of that amazing dresser! I absolutely love the idea of using a bench instead of chairs with your table, and how cute does the clock look in the corner? What a perfect country cottage!
12. Finally this week is this beautiful dining room from @littlehouse_on_the_hill - how homely does this look? I love all the neutral colours, which really give his room a warmth to it, and the gorgeous flowers are perfect for here! Every room in my home is painted in a white/creamy colour, so I LOVE the colour she's used here, it's the perfect shade to keep the room light and airy but not too pale. I even love her handbag!
Hope this has provided you with some inspiration should you be thinking about how to give your lounge a revamp.
Next Friday I'll be looking at beautiful bedrooms, so don't forget to hashtag your pictures over on Instagram #DoveCottageFridayFaves, and I'll feature some of my favourites here next week.
