However, get it right and you can totally transform the way a space looks and feels. Not only that, but choosing a unique statement lighting will add atmosphere and style.
Struggling with adding lighting to your home? Keep reading for five ways you can transform a room using just lighting alone...
Neon LED lighting
A real statement piece, an LED light can finish off any space, adding a seriously stylish touch. The perfect addition to a home office or above a bed, for example, LED lighting can create a sense of atmosphere whilst also adding a personalised touch.
Yellowpop make some seriously show-stopping pieces which can be fully customised to your choice of colour, font and design, making it really simple to give any room a truly unique feel. All lights are fully personalisable in a large range of colours and fonts, and can be made into any phrase, graphic or logo. The design process is so simple too – and takes just minutes to get a quote.
Not only that, but all lights have an option to add a dimmer too - perfect for creating the right kind of atmosphere in any space. Keep reading for an exclusive discount code on all orders from Yellowpop.
I’ve always thought an LED light would go really well in my spare room-come-home office - I think I’d choose my favourite phrase; “never, never, never, give up”, and go for the white colour and the 'Britney' font. I couldn’t resist mocking it up - how perfect would it look in there?!
Pendant lights
Lighting is a great way of creating different “zones” within a room - add a pendant light above your dining table or breakfast bar to separate where you eat from the rest of your kitchen. Pendant lights can have a real visual impact too, making a big statement in any space.
Table lamps
Overhead lights can often leave a room feeling cold, so using softer lighting will create a feeling of atmosphere and add a level of cosiness. Table lamps are the perfect way of doing this - popping one in a darker corner will also work to soften the edges of a dimly-lit room.
Mirrors
A trick I use in almost all rooms of my home, where natural light is a big issue - pop a mirror opposite a window to reflect light and bounce it around a room. This will brighten up a space, as well as working to make a room look larger as a result.
Floor lamp
A great way of adding some additional atmosphere to a space, a floor lamp can push light upwards and make ceilings appear taller. Choosing a lamp with an uplift shade will do this too.
