Friday on the blog is always all about the beautiful homes I've been crushing on recently, and every week I'll be running my Friday Faves - featuring a few of your beautiful homes and images I've been drawing inspiration from over the past few days.
This week I'm looking at my absolute favourite - Christmas decor! There's just something so exciting about decorating up when December rolls around, so it's been lovely to have a nose at all your lovely homes and get some ideas. Thanks so much to everyone who shared their pictures over on Instagram this week using the hashtag #DoveCottageFridayFaves, I've featured some of my favourites here...
2. Next up is @emma.jane.quinn's tree. She's gone for a lovely white colour scheme to her tree. I love the fact that she's used lots of baubles and decorations - it looks so professionally styled!
3. I absolutely LOVE a log fireplace display, and it looks even better at Christmas! How amazing are @soboid's nutcrackers?! Plus that pine cone garland goes perfectly with the logs. I'm adamant that our next house will have a fireplace so I can style it just like this!
4. It's always lovely to see how people style the outside of their homes for Christmas, so I'm glad @ournewbuildjourney has shared this lovely picture of hers. How amazing is that bauble wreath - it really stands out from the usual green wreaths around at this time of year. Also how sweet are those reindeer?! Bet this looks even better in the dark.
5. Time for a real Christmas tree now from @mrs.jazmine.ross! My hubby's allergic meaning we always have to go for an artificial one, so I always love having a nose as a real one! How cosy does this corner of her lounge look?! Perfect for the cold, dark evenings. The lights and decorations she's chosen give the tree such a simple but effective look too.
6. Next up is my absolute dream conservatory (I love having a nose at this every time it pops up on my Instagram feed!) from @at_home_with_the_bucknalls. Those stunning fairy lights on the ceiling! I might have to have a look into recreating this in our conservatory (if Amy doesn't mind me stealing her ideas, of course!). That tree is the perfect fit in there too, and what a fab idea with the Christmassy message on the blackboard?!
7. Christmas decorations aren't just for the tree, and @mylittlehomeandfamily has shown here exactly how to makeover other parts of your home for the festive season. I love that she's stuck to a white/grey theme across all these bits, looks so stylish. I'm dying for a twig tree now after seeing Viv's, and there's another really cute little sleigh in here too!
8. Another gorgeous twig tree now from @mylittlecupcake_eviex - I love the fact that Vicki's styled hers with those cute little baubles! Also what a genius idea to use a wreath as an 'O' in 'Noel'! I also love the silver and white theme she's gone for here too.
9. Another lovely outside picture now from @myhome_nicola.x. This is the type of lounge window that I would walk past when walking the dog and totally fall in love! I love that she's gone for multi-coloured fairy lights and how they tie in with the tree. Looks so cosy in there!
10. Next up is @laurakateelvis, who looks like she's made a start on her wrapping up (so jealous, I HAVE to sort out it all out this weekend!) What a lovely idea to have a Christmassy treat while you're doing it though, how nice does that smoothie look?! Imagine whacking a bit of Home Alone on at the same time!
11. Another gorgeous lounge now from @louise_rosexx - how perfect is her Christmas tree?! I love the way she's gone for a star theme too, looks fab. Louise has one of the cosiest looking living rooms I've ever seen - how much do you want to curl up in that sofa with a blanket right now?!
12. And finally this week is this lovely pic from @hart_at_home. You can't go wrong with decorations from The White Company, and Aimee's look so gorgeous! I love the way she's gone for the pink and gold theme, they look so perfect together don't they!
Hope this has provided you with some inspiration should you be about to decorate up your home for Christmas.
Throughout December I thought we would continue on with the Christmas theme, so next week it's going to be all about Christmas food and drink (because, let's face it, that's the best part of this time of year!). So tag your pictures of anything from any baking you've done, the Christmassy mugs/bowls/plates that come out this time of year, or even just how you've laid out some treats in your home.
