Go Faux - The best artificial plants to bring nature indoors

Some of the best and most realistic looking artificial plants and flowers, including my pick of the faux and fake flowers from the high street at affordable prices

I blogged a while ago about the tropical interior design trend that's already huge this season, and one of its major features is the use of plants and nature within the home. However, if you're like me, and struggle to keep anything alive, you'll be happy to know that faux is still the way to go.

Ikea hack: DIY bar cart/drinks trolley

I've had my eye on a drinks trolley for a while, however most of the ones I've seen cost a fortune. So with my recent overhaul of our patio area, what better excuse than to have a go at making my own!

How to style your 'house for now' into your dream forever home

how to transform your rented house, first time property, or starter home into your dream forever home using quick, easy, simple updates on a budget

I make no secret of the fact that while I love our first home, its very much that - a first home. I can often feel frustrated with the fact that its not my dream country cottage, and we don't want to/can't spend a fortune on transforming everything we want to simply because we won't be there forever. However, I think I've worked hard to create somewhere that, on the inside at least, much more closely resembles my dream home, and thought I'd share some of my top tips here.

The Olympus Pen for beginners & how I photograph interiors

Photography tips for beginners, including how to use the Olympus Pen camera to take better pictures and how I style and photograph interior design images. Explanation of camera settings, and what shutter speed, aperture, F-stop and ISO means. How to get the most out of your Olympus Pen camera, as a beginner to photography.

I recently received my first ever 'proper' camera, an Olympus Pen, despite being a complete novice when it comes to photography. However I found it quite difficult to get my head around the technical side of things, so six months on I thought I'd share what I've learnt so far, including some quick and easy tips on how to take great pictures, a beginners guide to some of the more technical settings, and how to get the most out of your camera.

Gender Neutral Nursery: An Update

Gender neutral nursery room for a new baby boy or girl, in colour scheme grey and yellow featuring handmade accessories and interiors

A while ago I blogged about my ideas for our nursery, planning to go with a grey and yellow colour scheme as we don't know whether this room's inhabitant is a boy or a girl.

Well, its FINALLY time for an update - however a bit of a disclaimer is in order: this room has proven to be a bit of a nightmare, and is not finished at all. My original plan was to stick to the colour scheme, adding some more gender-specific touches once the baby was born. However, I've come to realise this is actually quite difficult to do - I haven't wanted to buy lots of beautiful decorations only to want to change them once little one comes along, and therefore I've struggled to get the room to a place where I feel its 'done'. I've also been working on quite a tight budget, so (as I'm sure you'll spot!) have made a lot of the decorations you see here.
